Dear Family and Friends,
We're ALL back at the rental house! To our surprise and
great delight, Lissy was discharged from the hospital this evening, and we
enjoyed dinner together at the house. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! We can't
even begin to express how happy and grateful we are that she's out of the hospital,
doing well, and that all of you have been so supportive and been praying so
diligently!
The doctors have requested that we stay in town for a couple
of days just to make sure nothing goes amiss, so we will fly back Monday and
arrive home Monday night.
Thank you for your prayers for little Sydney and her heart
transplant as well. Since Lissy was moved to the step-down unit, we have not
seen her and her family. Therefore, we unfortunately don't have any news to
report, but I'm sure the family would appreciate your continued prayers.
Also, Betsy had an OB appointment yesterday, and everything
looks good with baby boy (now 34.5 weeks gestation). We are grateful that he
looks like he's going to hold on a few more weeks.
We are thrilled to be on our way home soon with our little
girl, whose vocabulary now includes words such as "stethoscope",
"blood pressure" and "x-ray"!
Please pray for us all in this time of transition, for
continued healing for Lissy and protection from other illnesses as she
continues to heal. We will return to Mayo in a year to see how the valve repair
is holding up and to get a prognosis for if/when future surgery is expected.
Psalm 126: 3, 5 "The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy . . . Those who sow with tears will reap with songs
of joy."
With much love and gratitude,
Betsy, Tom and Lissy
